Kattre's Korner
Learning together. Growing together.
Thursday, September 27th, a few people associated with the Green Bay Packers (including a former player) as well as the high school football players put on a Play 60 event for 2-4 grade students. Here are a few pictures of the kids participating. It was so fun to watch them give 100% for these activities! There's also a picture of our class in their sports attire, as well as some pictures of the kiddos writing thank-you letters to those that donated money for them to get books each month. Lastly, there are some pictures of our trip to UWP for Wellness Day. The kids got to play foot golf, do some rhythm work with sticks, learn about healthy/unhealthy foods, and even go swimming! I hope they slept well Friday night because we also walked there and back! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend! Here's to a great October, homecoming, and week #5!

In this last week of school, the 2nd graders were practicing reading to self. While it seems like something obviously easy that they've clearly done before, you'd be surprised at how many little things can interrupt or distract 7 and 8 year olds from staying focused without being distracted. They did so great!! You could have heard a pin drop! A few days later we learned about and practiced reading with a partner. I have a great group of students who work well with pretty much everyone! Part of reading a good book is finding a partner who will help you do that! On Wednesdays during our enrichment afternoons, we miss our afternoon recess. To split up the morning a bit and have a brain break, we had an indoor free choice time where the students got to explore the inside recess toys. Here are some of their creations. Last, but not least, here are two of my favorite moments from the week. A beautiful message from our new friend, Symir, saying (for his friends) "You guys mean a lot to me." The other picture is a cool worm, found by Jayda!
The day went by INCREDIBLY fast but we had so much fun! We learned rules to use on the bus, in the hallways, in the cafeteria during lunch, and in our classroom. Everyone did such a great job soaking everything in, as overwhelming as I'm sure it was at times. Here's a picture of our class taking a brain break from all our hard work while doing a Go Noodle dance. It was a hot recess this afternoon, but we were still able to get out, run around, have some fun, and take a couple class pictures. Thank you for visiting the site. Please, if you feel comfortable, let me know that you stopped in to check out what our class is up to so that I know it is a valuable use of my time. I'm hoping to do my best in keeping all of you informed and up to date on what it is our class is doing, both academically and for fun. If you were able to enjoy our pictures from today, send me a Remind message, or leave a comment below.
Have a great day everyone, and thank you for sharing such sweet boys and girls with me! |
